Frequently asked questions
What are your pronouns?
My pronouns are they/them.
Where are you located?
I am in Kansas City, MO, USA.
What are your disabilities?
I have chronic pain issues stemming from myofascia pain syndrome and fibromyalgia. I also am neurodivergent via ADHD and mentally ill via PTSD. My disabilities are considered invisible. While I do not take issue talking about my disabilities and how they affect my life, remember that disabled people do NOT have to share their diagnosis or anything else unless they personally feel like it. Unless you are our specific healthcare provider, your opinions and advice are unasked for and not needed.
How many people are on your team?
Just me! My website, socials, emails, newsletters, art, art photography, branding, marketing, shipping, studio, gallery et al are all managed and maintained by me. You can purchase prints and other home products from my Society6 storefront.
Are commissions open? When will they open and how can I know?
Yes! They are open. Want a bright, creative, full-of-feels abstract painting for your home? Fill out the contact form on my website and we'll talk! If my commission status ever changes, folks will be notified in my newsletter.
Can I display your work in an exhibit?
Contact me directly to discuss any exhibition opportunities. Thank you!
How do I submit artwork for Gallery Athanor?
You can fill out my submission form! I look forward to seeing your work and getting to know you.
How long are exhibitions and what are visiting hours?
Exhibitions are 8 weekends long. Check the calendar and sign up for my newsletter for exhibition announcements and updates. Hours are Saturdays and Sundays noon to 4pm by appointment.
What is an Athanor?
An Athanor is a special type of kiln, oven, or furnace that is used in alchemy. It is where the science/magic happens. You heat certain metals to specific temperatures and that allows them to be transmuted into something different like lead into gold. Fun fact: the symbol in my logo is the alchemic icon for gold!
How often is your shop updated?
I update my shop every one to two months. New prints and products are added to Society6 at the same time.
How are orders shipped?
All painting orders are tracked via the United States Postal Service (USPS). I do not ship internationally.
How long do orders take to ship out?
Orders are estimated to ship within 3 weeks of purchase. Most of them will ship before them.
How long do orders take to arrive after shipment?
According to USPS, there is an average of 3-5 business days (up to 1 full week) within the United States. I currently do not ship internationally, though Society6 does! Orders can be delayed due to the Covid-19 global pandemic. If you never receive your order from me directly, contact me. If you don't get something from Society6, contact their customer service.
What's your refund/return policy?
Due to the unique and original nature of canvas art, I currently do not offer refunds or returns. Lost or excessively damaged items rarely happen, but if it does, please email me with photographic proof if this happens to you. I cannot refund your purchase - however, I can send you a painting of equal or near-equal value as a replacement. You'll just have to cover shipping.
How long does it take to get an email response?
I try to respond within three business days. However, due to my ADHD, I can forget how time works and it may take me longer than that. I promise I am not deliberately ignoring or forgetting about you! Follow up with me.
Can I print your work for myself?
No. If you would like a copy of my art, please purchase a print from Society6!
