Guest curator Tanith K aims to highlight the conversations and concepts that undergraduates are exploring. “We’re thrilled to offer these emerging artists a platform to present their work and introduce them to the greater KC arts community.” they said. “Undergrads tend to be overlooked since they are so fresh in their art career. Despite their inexperience, their work adds important voices to the cultural conversation and we are remiss to exclude them.”
Vulpes Bastille is an artist-run studio and gallery space located in the East Crossroads District of Kansas City, MO. Housed in a 100-year-old renovated dancehall, it provides emerging and local artists with affordable spaces to create and display their work. It is an ideal venue for experimental and installation-based exhibitions. Vulpes Bastille has become a creative fortress for artists of all backgrounds and career levels, sustaining a diverse community of artists over the past decade.
Gallery Athanor is a private, in-home art space and curatorial project in Kansas City. Tanith K's curatorial style is unconventionally balanced, finding unheard conversations and unique foundations between artists, their art, and its viewers. Their art space provides an alternative venue for artists to showcase their work outside of a traditional white-box gallery and gives collectors of all means a window to see what art looks like on their own walls.
